SAVE US — A one-hour serialized drama series
“I gotta be honest. Not a particularly fulfilling trial drama pilot. Rather derivative and predictable. The conservative politicians don’t care how corrupt the president is yet again, and the liberal ones keep believing if they only put the evidence of the president’s obvious corruption on display, everyone will magically abandon him…despite that strategy not working…EVER BEFORE. Sorry, I’m afraid I can’t green light the series. The hero is just too thick, and the villain isn’t played by a charming, good-looking Brit. Plus, he cages kids. That’s a no-go area for parents of young children like me. Yes, I completely got the monologue was a West Wing sort of moment. But no one ever thought that show had anything to do with reality. It was basically progressive political porn. People want cynical political stories now. You know…like Homeland. I read a great novel last year by this Agatha Christie woman. Everyone in her story was guilty and dead by the end. I really gotta get that woman in for a meeting. Hey, thanks for making the trek. I know it’s never a small thing to cross the 405. You have my email now. Stay in touch. Mind you, the staff turnaround here is on a six-month cycle.”
