LAKE AMERICA

From what I’ve read, “Ontario” is an evolution of the Huron word “kanadario”, which means – among other things – “sparkling water”. “America” is named after Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci. I wonder what the Huron people think of having another one of their names replaced with a European name?

Liberals need to stop getting angry about this stuff. What they need to do is laugh. If Republican-run agencies change the name of a lake… Laugh. If they tear down the Kennedy Centre because it won’t allow Trump’s name on it… Laugh. Insecure narcissists don’t fear anger. They fear ridicule. Eventually, the great centre ground will become exhausted by this silliness, and the Christian Nationalists will be swept from power. Trump will simply become a movie-of-the-week on Lifetime. I’d have to let myself go a lot to play him. But if the pay cheque is right…
